We are pleased to report on a successful Taekwon-Do grading for our White and Yellow Belt students from Burbage TKD Academy & Rugby TKD Academy. The grading was a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their hard work, technical skill, and understanding of the fundamental principles of Taekwon-Do.
Our beginner students showed strong potential as they performed the foundational techniques, including basic stances, blocks, and punches. The grading included the performance of Saju Jirugi (Four Direction Punch) and Saju Makgi (Four Direction Block), with emphasis on correct posture & balance.
Students also answered basic theory questions on the Tenets of Taekwon-Do and the meaning of the white belt. Their enthusiasm and focus were commendable, marking a solid first step on their martial arts journey.
Students at this level were assessed on more advanced techniques, such as front snap kicks, knifehand blocks, and proper stances including walking and L-stance transitions. They performed their respective patterns — Chon-Ji for 9th Kup and Dan-Gun for 8th Kup — demonstrating rhythm, technique, and concentration.
Sparring drills introduced basic controlled partner work through three-step sparring, helping students apply their techniques in a structured format. Theoretical knowledge covered pattern meanings, Korean terminology, and the values behind the Taekwon-Do oath.
Results will be announced next week
