Burbage Taekwon-Do Academy is led by Master Higginson VIII Degree & Mrs Higginson VI Degree, a husband-and-wife team committed to excellence in martial arts instruction. Their combined expertise and family-led approach help foster confidence, respect, and personal development in every student.

Master Higginson is the Senior Instructor with over 40 years of experience in Taekwon-Do. A former ITF England competitor, he has achieved both World and European titles during his competitive career. He is dedicated to using his extensive knowledge and experience to teach, coach, and inspire the next generation of students.

Mrs. Higginson is the Lead Welfare and Safeguarding Officer for both Burbage Taekwon-Do Academy and the NGB (Bristish Isles Taekwon-Do Federation). She oversees policies and procedure’s with the best practice and promoting the welfare and safety of all students.

The Academy has been serving the community and surrounding area since 2001, specialising in ITF Taekwon-Do and is a member of the BITF & ITF. It is fully registered with the British Taekwondo Council, ensuring high standards of instruction, safety, and professionalism.

Our instructors are DBS certified and first aid qualified, the Academy is supported by an outstanding team of black belts international and assistant instructors in all classes.
