ITF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS GREECE 2026!!

Three of our members from Team Burbage attended the European Championships!

Ana Marija had the incredible honor of opening the event by carrying the England flag during the opening ceremony…a truly proud and memorable moment.

On Day 1, Ana Marija began her competition in 11-13yrs 2-1st Kup patterns, securing her first victory against Slovakia. She then faced Ukraine, the eventual gold medalist, and narrowly lost by just 1–2 points in a very close match. Next up was her sparring event -50kg, where she delivered a fantastic performance and won convincingly against Bulgaria. In her next bout against Russia, she dominated the first round but heartbreakingly missed out on the bronze medal in the final two seconds.

On day 2, Lucca Chen competed in Junior 14-15yrs I Degree patterns on and showed outstanding skill, achieving impressive wins against Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Russia. His strong performances earned him a well-deserved European Bronzealthough he narrowly lost in the semifinal against Greece.

On Day 3, Lucca continued with Sparring -65kg, matches against Ukraine and Russia and secured another victory against Belarus, showcasing determination and consistency throughout the competition.

Luka Stojanov delivered a solid performance in the Adult I Degree patterns against Greece, showing great technique despite the loss. In his Sparring -71kg he achieved a dominant victory over France with a significant points difference and a very strong display. He came incredibly close to leveling his match against Russia but missed the opportunity in the final moments. His final match against Greece was another tough contest.

The team not only competed at a high level but also gained valuable skills, built friendships, and shared great moments.
